Some plates are simply used to serve dessert. Others become favourite everyday objects chosen almost out of affection. At Grandchose, I like to create dessert plates that spark a smile, bring back a memory, or celebrate a passion.

Each design is drawn by hand in my workshop in Provence, using the spontaneous blue line that has become the signature of the CHILL collection. Bicycles, pétanque, palm trees, dachshunds, seashells or Mont Ventoux… these illustrations act as little everyday reminders of the things we love. Simple objects that often become surprisingly meaningful over time.

This simplicity is important to me. I am not trying to create heavily decorated plates in the traditional sense. Instead, each illustration acts as a subtle detail — something you notice little by little and eventually begin to associate with a memory, a place, a passion or a person.

Some designs evoke seaside holidays and long summer days by the water. Others celebrate a love of cycling, the roads of Mont Ventoux or leisurely games of pétanque beneath the plane trees of Provence. The OSCAR dachshund plates, meanwhile, speak immediately to dog lovers.
