CHILL Ventoux Dessert Plate

The Ventoux dessert plate is much more than a simple plate; it’s a piece I imagined as a tribute to this legendary summit watching over my studio. Each piece is hand-shaped from carefully selected light beige stoneware. Once fired at high temperature, this clay reveals a mineral texture and a soft hue that echoes the region’s limestone landscapes. The Mont Ventoux drawing is then done freehand with my blue pencil. This “pencil-sketched” line captures the strength of the ridges and the summit’s relief with a unique vibration—impossible to achieve with industrial processes. This artisanal technique highlights the spontaneity of the gesture and the beauty of imperfection, making each plate a one-of-a-kind creation.

A Ventoux dessert plate inspired by Provence

I work on the design before glazing so the blue blends perfectly into the clay. The transparent glaze I apply afterwards is guaranteed lead-free and free from harmful substances. It protects the drawing while adding a shine that brings out the depth of the clay. With its 20 cm diameter, the Ventoux dessert plate is wonderfully versatile. It elegantly holds a slice of homemade cake, a selection of cheeses, or a colorful starter. Its slim profile, with a height of about one centimeter, gives it a modern, graphic line that fits perfectly in a contemporary interior or a country home. It’s an object that invites conversation and contemplation at the end of a meal.
