The simple objects we grow attached to over time

Most objects in a home go unnoticed. And then there are the ones we instinctively reach for every day without really thinking about it. A favourite mug, a bowl we’ve kept for years, or a plate that still makes us smile whenever we take it out of the cupboard.

At Grandchose, this relationship with everyday objects is at the heart of my work. I enjoy creating handmade pottery that naturally finds its place in a home without needing to feel precious or reserved for special occasions.

In this category, you’ll find articles about the objects we genuinely use every day: tableware that becomes part of our routines, pieces that age beautifully, and the small rituals that surround coffee, meals, and everyday cooking. I also share reflections on craftsmanship, durable objects, and the pleasure of living with handmade ceramics designed to last.

The high-fired stoneware used in my workshop makes this possible. Strong, practical, and easy to care for, it allows me to create handmade pottery that is dishwasher-safe, resistant to everyday use, and able to accompany daily life for many years while retaining its warmth and character.

Hand-drawn illustrations, graphic patterns, and subtle irregularities give each piece its own personality. Very often, it is these imperfect details that make an object feel more alive and more meaningful over time.

This category also explores the connections between craftsmanship, home life, and everyday routines. How a simple object can become familiar, why certain pieces almost feel like lucky charms, and how handmade pottery brings a different kind of presence to even the most ordinary moments.
